The Best “Workout” Of The Year

Christmas isn’t really about the food.
Or the gifts.
Or even the perfect family photo where everyone somehow looks awake at the same time.

It’s about being with people.

And weirdly… some of my favorite memories of my entire life are tied to that same idea, but inside the gym.

Not because the workouts were easy. They weren’t.

I’m talking about the sets that made your vision go fuzzy. The ones where your legs felt like they were going to fold in half. The ones where you had to talk yourself into doing “one more rep” when every part of your body was voting no.

But when you’re doing that kind of hard thing next to someone you care about… it changes.

It turns into something else.

It becomes laughing between sets.
It becomes inside jokes you still repeat years later.
It becomes that moment where you look at your friend and they already know what you’re thinking:
“Alright… we’re not quitting today.”

That’s the magic.

Not the workout itself.

The together part.

And I think that’s why Christmas hits so deep when you slow down enough to feel it.

Because for busy parents, the days blur. You wake up, you rush, you handle problems, you take care of everyone, you try to keep the wheels on. And even when it’s a “good day,” it can feel like you’re sprinting through your own life.

So here’s my only “plan” for you today:

If you’re reading this on Christmas… give yourself permission to put the self-improvement checklist down for a minute.

Be fully here.

Make the dumb joke.
Hug the person you normally just wave at.
Sit on the floor and actually play.
Ask the question you never have time to ask.
Look around long enough to remember this.

Because the truth is: the best things in life are almost always hard… and almost always better with other people.

And that’s what TENRA tries to be for the public, not just a place to “get in shape,” but a place where you do hard things with good people… and somehow leave feeling more alive than when you came in.

Merry Christmas everyone!
